They Were Following Orders

In the Times article, below, Colin Powell says: "in war, these sorts of horrible things happen every now and again, but they're still to be deplored."

And Karl Rove is paraphrased in the Times as saying: "one of the dangers of basing a campaign on national security and foreign policy is that events can be beyond the president's control."

Excuse me. "These things happen"? "Beyond the President's control"? According to the report the torture was authorized and commanded. It was military policy! You can't hide behind the idea that these were bad apples and that the White House couldn't control these soldiers.

Sick.
